Dr. Willa Hsueh is a leading researcher in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, with a career spanning several decades of pioneering contributions to hormone regulation and metabolic disease. Her early research provided key insights into renin biochemistry and aldosterone metabolism, particularly focusing on inactive “big renin” forms and their activation mechanisms in normal and pathological conditions such as diabetic nephropathy. Dr. Hsueh’s investigations have significantly advanced the understanding of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and its role in blood pressure regulation, sodium balance, and endocrine disorders.
