The research focuses on elucidating molecular, epigenetic, and neural circuit mechanisms underlying emotional and cognitive disorders. Key areas include identifying epigenetic modifications associated with behavioral changes in mood disorders, uncovering neural circuit and molecular pathways involved in treatment-resistant depression, and examining neural network mechanisms that regulate motivational behaviors such as reward processing, addiction, sexual behavior, and decision-making. Using an integrative approach combining behavioral neuroscience, molecular pharmacology, and systems and computational neuroscience, the work aims to clarify how chronic stress alters brain function and how resilience or anhedonia emerges, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for neuropsychiatric diseases.
